Abstract / Description
You can see sets of scarps here, some of which bound Bells Canyon Reservoir (Bells Canyon Reservoir is built in a graben). The fault scarps are the dark shadow lines that go across (side to side) the photo. You can trace at least three separate scarps (there are more) which are most evident to the right of where the road coming out of Little Cottonwood Canyon (the road going toward the center of the photo) curves. This is part of the Salt Lake City segment of the Wasatch fault zone. The zone of deformation is about 1300 feet wide in this area.
