Abstract / Description
Left fork drains by far the largest area, and was therefore the most affected. Slumped material at right side of curve was occasioned by saturation of ground by stream, after passage of flood had left a vertical bank. At point where man is standing in channel, flood increased former section area four-fold. Prior to flood, sheep were driven across at that spot. Recessional slumping shown in right hand upper portion of picture. Where Mr. Hasler is standing, the left fork channel was about half as wide and half as deep previous to flood. It is now about 20 feet deep and 25 feet across the top. Slump debris may be seen below where water enters from right fork.
